Eugene Laverty will return to WorldSBK action at Jerez this weekend as he steps in for injured ex-teammate Tom Sykes at BMW.

The Northern Irishman had started the year competing with the RC Squadra Corse satellite BMW squad before financial issues prevented the partnership from continuing at Most.

Sykes has been ruled out of the middle round of the current triple header after suffering severe concussion at Barcelona last Sunday - due to a cliision in the afternoon's main race - with the Brit now focussed on recovery and a potential return at Portimao the next week.
