Go Eleven's Chaz Davies returns to WorldSBK action in Argentina this weekend after being declared fit by the championship’s medical team on Thursday.

Almost a month after the Barcelona accident which saw Davies suffer broken ribs, the Welshman is back with his Ducati squad for the penultimate round of 2021, and his World Superbike career.

Davies is no stranger to the challenging and breathtaking San Juan Circuit, having climbed the podium on his last visit to Villicum, scoring second in race two back in 2019. However, Friday’s free practice will be spent getting back up to speed on his Panigale V4R and assessing his physical condition after the recent injury.

"It's good to be back!” Davies said after passing his medical checks. “Before this time I never missed a complete race weekend, without even starting it. Sometimes I got injured during the weekend, and I had to miss races, but I’ve never missed a complete round since the beginning.

“It has been a different experience, it's almost a little taste of the future, being at home and watching races from the sofa but I am happy to be back in Argentina, a circuit that I really enjoy.

“I am feeling much better than I was a few weeks ago, so I expect to be ok on the bike. Obviously being passed fit it's the main thing, the goal for the weekend is to progress, to not do too much too soon, understand my condition on the bike, also my fitness and my strength.

“I missed a lot of races, I haven't been able to do any training, so for sure I am going to suffer a little bit on that side, but I am gonna grit my teeth for the weekend. I am confident we can do something good and solid, so look forward to it!"
