Noriyuki Haga has taken his first double win of this year's World Superbike Championship, taking the chequered flag in a shortened race two.
The Samurai of Slide spent most of the race battling with team-mate Troy Corser after Xerox Ducati's Troy Bayliss' inital charge faded as he slipped down the order.
The race began dry but with five laps to go, Haga and Corser signalled it was too slippery to continue as rain began to fall, so the race was declared on 15 laps. Corser had passed Haga on lap 16 but, because the race has passed two-tihirds distance, the result was taken from the previous lap.
Bayliss has led into the first corner but come lap two, he ran wide and allowed the Yamaha pairing through. Home favourite Max Neukirchner was up in the leading four and managed to take second early on when the two Troys both ran wide letting him and Haga through.
Corser was soon back in the action and went past the German for second but Bayliss was beginning to scythe his way backwards and was dropped. The Yamahas swapped places time and again but Corser had left it just one lap too late.
