Takaaki Nakagami discusses his feelings ahead of his home Grand Prix and his new 'Limited Edition' helmet design.
Takaaki Nakagami is set for what will be his last Japanese Grand Prix as a full-time MotoGP rider. The LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider has completed four Japanese Grands Prix in the past, with a best result of 11th.
This weekend will be Nakagami's fifth and final time out on track as a MotoGP rider. The 32-year-old will become a Honda Development rider in 2025, ending his full-time racing career.
Before his final home Grand Prix Nakagami was asked how he was feeling:
"It will be sad and emotional of course," Nakagami stated. "This will be my last home Grand Prix as a full-time rider, but at the moment it feels like it does not change anything. I feel exactly the same as I normally would, but it is something special as it is my home GP. I don't know. Day by day it will be changing at the moment it is ok."

For his home Grand Prix Nakagami will use a special one-off 'Limited Edition' helmet design. Nakagami was asked about the new design to which he said:
"It is not that simple but it is more autumn styled and on the side it has the Motegi layout and I mentioned the 'Japanese Grand Prix Limited Edition'. I like it because it is a completely different idea, colours and I love it."
