Toprak Razgatlioglu blames mechanical issues for his Race Two loss to Nicolo Bulega

Gold & Goose

Nicolo Bulega was able to beat Toprak Razgatlioglu in the final race of the weekend at the Autodrom Most.

It had been a perfect weekend for Toprak Razgatlioglu as he had topped every Practice session, claimed pole position and won Race One and the Superpole Race.

However, in the final World Superbike race of the weekend at the Autodrom Most, he had victory snatched away from him at the finish line.

The Turkish rider was leading the race out of the final corner, but he believes that a mechanical issue with the engine caused him to lose out to title rival Nicolo Bulega.

Razgatlioglu stated that he could feel the bike cutting out at the final corner and on the run to the line, which left him 'really sad and really angry' after a near-perfect weekend in the Czech Republic.

"Unbelievable, I am really sad and really angry," Razgatlioglu told TNT Sports after the final race of the weekend.

"All race, I was giving more than 100% effort, but at the last corner exit, the bike was cutting out and I lost the win.

"I am really angry because of this, it was not just the one time on the corner exit, I felt it cutting, and then again when I changed gear, it happened again.

"Then he [Nicolo Bulega] was gone, it is very strange. I don't know why, it looked like the fuel had run out, but when I came back here [Parc Ferme] I did not feel it cut out."

"I am really angry because of this."

Razgatlioglu had been making ground up in the Championship towards Bulega as he had cut his 34-point lead down to 26 after the Superpole Race.

But after losing in Race Two to the Italian, the gap was extended back to 31 points, meaning Bulega only lost three points across three races.
