'When I have something interesting, I will talk' - Andrea Iannone provides an update on his future

Gold & Goose

Andrea Iannone has discussed his future in the World Superbike Championship and the chance to ride for factory Ducati.

Ahead of the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna World Superbike Round, there have been multiple moves in the rider market.

There is now an empty spot in the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati squad for the 2026 season, after Alvaro Bautista was told he would not be retained for next year.

When Iannone was asked about the potential to ride for the factory Ducati squad, he refused to talk about the speculation.

"I don't want to talk about the market," Iannone told WorldSBK.com on Thursday.

"I think it is more important for me to focus on this race weekend, on the Championship, and we will see race by race.

"I don't know in this moment, my manager is working a lot in this area, and when I have something interesting on paper, I will talk.

"But at the moment, it is not my job, I will focus on the track, and I want to achieve the best result for me and my team."

The Italian will return to racing this weekend after suffering injuries at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic World Superbike Round.

Ahead of his home round, he was questioned about his physical condition.

"I am not at 100%, but we can manage the pain," he revealed before Free Practice One.

"The test was not bad, but at the end of the second day, I struggled a lot with the pain. But in any case, I think I have recovered more since the test, and I am more or less at 80% with my foot.

"But I think it is important that we focus on this weekend, it is our home race, and it is really important for us to finish the weekend with a smile."

Despite riding injured, Iannone still has high hopes for his weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

"Unfortunately, my target is always high," he explained.

"We will see, I think the top five would be good for us, because we have come back from not the best moment for us. But we will try our best to achieve a top-five finish."
