Sergio Garcia will be back on the Moto2 grid as he replaces the injured Senna Agius for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
After his crash at the Austrian Grand Prix, Senna Agius will be replaced at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix at Balaton Park by Sergio Garcia.
Agius crashed on the opening lap of the Moto2 race at the Red Bull Ring at Turn 2b, suffering neck and head trauma.
Due to his injuries, the Australian rider had to make the decision to sit on the sidelines for Balaton Park's debut on the MotoGP calendar.
This decision has led to Garcia returning to the Moto2 grid with the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad for the first time since his split with the QJMOTOR - FRINSA - MSi Team earlier in the 2025 season.
During his time in the Moto2 World Championship, Garcia competed in 45 races across Kalex and Boscoscuro machinery. The Spaniard also won two races in the class in 2024, as well as securing three further podiums.
"It’s never good news to have to replace a mate, and I wish Senna [Agius] a speedy recovery," said Garcia.
"I would like to thank LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team for giving me the opportunity to return to the Moto2 World Championship, and to be able to race at the new Balaton Park Circuit.
"Although this year I have been able to compete in very few races, I am very motivated and eager to work and translate the confidence they have given me into a good result."
