'It looks easy, but it is not' - Marc Marquez is on the verge of winning the MotoGP title

Gold & Goose

Marc Marquez could secure the 2025 MotoGP Championship this weekend at the Japanese Grand Prix.

This weekend, Marc Marquez can secure his seventh MotoGP World Championship if he outscores his brother, Alex Marquez, by three points across the Japanese Grand Prix.

The factory Ducati rider admits that scoring three more points than his brother appears easy on the outside, but he believes 'it is not easy'.

Marquez has wrapped up multiple of his MotoGP titles at the Japanese Grand Prix, but the Spaniard has admitted that he is in no rush to reclaim his crown this weekend and 'can wait'.

"Of course I would like to fight for the win, because that would mean I would have a chance to close the Championship," Marquez said during the MotoGP Press Conference.

"I expect that Alex [Marquez] will be fast all weekend as always, but our target is to keep the same mentality and to close the Championship here.

"Let's see, because to the people it looks easy, but it is not easy to score three more points than Alex during the weekend, because he has shown that he is riding in a very good way.

"But we will try to do our best, and see if we can celebrate something big on Sunday. If not, I can wait don't worry. The most important thing is to achieve it sooner or later."

Marquez has not won a title since his success in 2019 with Repsol Honda, but believes this title is worth no more than his previous Championships throughout his career.

"A value of a title is the value of a title; it is the same. I would say that 2013 was the most important one, but I did not win it here, it was at the last race in Valencia," he explained.

"It is true that this will be the title that I get by the biggest challenge of my career. So, let's see, I will try to enjoy the moment, as this is the most important thing."
