Ryan Vickers is 'looking at other options' for the 2026 season

Gold & Goose

Ryan Vickers is exploring options to remain in World Superbikes if his deal with Motocorsa Racing comes to an end.

When Ryan Vickers moved across from the British Superbike Championship to the World Superbike Championship, he had signed a two-year deal with Motocorsa Racing.

The British rider was expected to be given a season to learn the Ducati Panigale V4 R, the World Superbike electronics, and the different European circuits. Before a second season, where he would be competitive in the Championship.

However, reports from the paddock suggest that Motocorsa Racing are asking for more money from Vickers to continue for a second season in the team.

Ahead of the penultimate round of the 2025 World Superbike Championship at Estoril, Vickers was asked about his future in the Italian squad.

"There have been some difficulties, and definitely some discussions that have changed some things slightly," Vickers told WorldSBK.com on Thursday.

"But things are still up in the air. Obviously, in this situation, you have to look at other options, and we hope we can announce some things in the coming days."

Vickers was asked whether he was looking at options in the World Superbike paddock, as well as a potential return to the British Superbike paddock.

"Both [paddocks], really, to be honest, it would be my ambition to continue in World Superbikes," he explained.

"I have been here for a year, and it would be great to continue. But like I say, things are up in the air, and we have to see how things pan out in the next couple of days. Then, hopefully, we will have some news."

After ten rounds, Vickers finds himself 19th in the Championship as the top World Superbike rookie, and has a best result of seventh place to his name.

"We have shown at times this year that we can comfortably battle inside the top ten at tracks we have little experience at," he stated.

"You definitely perform better in a second year in World Superbikes, you need it, the level is so high, and the bikes are very different to what I was used to, so it takes adaptation.

"But I feel for a rookie year, we have had a great season, we have been relatively consistent, so let's see."
