Phil Marron will not follow Toprak Razgatlioglu to MotoGP, according to BMW Team Principal Shaun Muir.
There has been plenty of talk since Toprak Razgatlioglu announced his move to MotoGP about who his crew chief will be for his rookie season in the Grand Prix paddock.
However, it has now been officially confirmed by ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team Principal, Shaun Muir, that Phil Marron will not be Razgatlioglu's crew chief.
Muir told WorldSBK.com that he is in talks with Marron to keep him in the World Superbike paddock for 2026, but the deal still needs to be finalised.
"No, he’s not following Toprak [Razgatlioglu] to MotoGP," Shaun Muir told the World Superbike world feed on Friday.
"We still have to finalise matters on our side, I think there’s going to be an announcement in the next couple of weeks. It’s not our priority right now.
"Clearly, we’ve got a big job to finish off here in the paddock. Our focus right now is with Toprak and Michael [van der Mark], and I think in the next week or two, there will be more announcements coming about the various changes we’ll make.
"The fundamental ones are the riders and that’s all in place, and we’re looking to preseason testing now."
Ahead of the Estoril World Superbike Round, Toprak Razgatlioglu also confirmed that Marron will not join him at Prima Pramac Yamaha as they have 'different plans'.
"I don't think it will be possible, because in MotoGP I will be a rookie, and even if the OK came from Yamaha, Pramac has different plans," Razgatlioglu said.
"We will see, I keep pushing, but maybe in the future it will be possible to have him with me again."
However, new reports from GPOne at the Estoril World Superbike Round suggest that Marron has a MotoGP offer for 2026. But it would see him join the Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad, rather than follow Razgatlioglu to Prima Pramac Yamaha.
