Joel Kelso secured his first pole position of the 2025 Moto3 World Championship at his home Grand Prix.
For the first time in the 2025 season and the second time in his Moto3 career, Joel Kelso will start a Grand Prix from pole position. The Australian rider will lead the Moto3 field away on Sunday at his home Grand Prix.
The 2025 Moto3 World Champion, Jose Antonio Rueda, will start from the front row at the Australian Grand Prix after qualifying in second place for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.
After taking a podium at the Indonesian Grand Prix, Luca Lunetta will start from the rear of the front row at Phillip Island as he qualified in third place.
Taiyo Furusato has not finished the last two Grands Prix, a record the Japanese rider will want to end this weekend, and starting from fourth place is a good place to try to end his unwanted run of form.
Matteo Bertelle has a strong chance of featuring inside the top ten for the first time since the Grand Prix of the Americas as he qualified in fifth place at the Australian Grand Prix.
Rounding out the second row of the grid is the Moto3 rookie, Alvaro Carpe, who will start from sixth place on the grid for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.
Joel Esteban is standing in for Dennis Foggia this weekend, and the Spaniard will start from the front of the third row in seventh place for the CFMoto Aspar Team.
It was a positive Friday for the Leopard Racing squad, but Adrian Fernandez could not convert in Qualifying as he will start from eighth place on the grid.
The top ten on the grid is completed by two Moto3 rookies, Maximo Quiles will start from ninth place for the CFMoto Aspar Team, and Guido Pini will start from tenth place for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad.
