Nicolo Bulega has issued an apology to Toprak Razgatlioglu after the duo collided in the Superpole Race at Jerez.
In the Superpole Race at the World Superbike season finale, Nicolo Bulega arrived at the Parc Ferme to a barrage of boos from fans.
The Italian rider had just collided with Toprak Razgatlioglu in the opening lap of the race, and caused the two-time World Superbike Champion to crash out of what was expected to be the title decider.
Bulega was handed a long lap penalty, but still won the Superpole Race with a four-second advantage over the rest of the field.
The 2025 World Superbike Champion will now be decided in the final race of the weekend as Bulega has cut Razgatlioglu's advantage down from 34 points at the start of the day to 22 points heading into the final race of the season.
After the race, Bulega issues an apology to Razgatlioglu and the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team in his Parc Ferme interview.
"I am very disappointed, because I am always clean," Bulega told TNT Sports after a controversial Superpole Race victory.
"I just wanted to try and stop his speed because he was preparing the exit. I always do these overtakes, even in Aragon. It is my strong point to make corner speed, and I just wanted to overtake him.
"I am really sorry, really, really sorry. I did not do this in all of my entire career, and nothing, I am very sorry and I am not happy to win."
