Miguel Oliveira's seven years as a MotoGP rider came to an end at the 2025 Valencia Grand Prix.
At the end of the 2025 MotoGP season, Miguel Oliveira was one of the riders who ended their time in the Grand Prix paddock.
The Portuguese rider will be heading to World Superbikes with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team in 2026, after seven years in the MotoGP World Championship.
Oliveira's final year in MotoGP did not go as he expected. He signed for the Prima Pramac Racing squad for the 2025 season and switched from Aprilia to Yamaha. However, the start of Oliveira's season went wrong after he picked up an injury at the Argentine Grand Prix.
After missing four Grands Prix, Oliveira returned at Le Mans. Throughout the remainder of the season, he finished inside the top ten on two occasions in Grands Prix and ended the season 20th in the Championship standings.
In his final race of his MotoGP career, Oliveira finished 11th in the Valencia Grand Prix, which he believes was a good result.
"I am good, it feels good, it does not feel like I have finished the race, it just feels like a celebratory moment," Oliveira told TNT Sports.
"It feels good though, I have to thank the guys in the team, they have been awesome with me, patient as well, waiting for me to get my speed back.
"Today, I have to say it was a good race, I felt good. I finished in a strong way."
During his career, Oliveira won five races in the MotoGP World Championship, but when asked to choose his favourite win, he went straight to his win at the Portuguese Grand Prix in 2020.
"It is hard, but probably the one in Portugal," he stated.
"It was not my first [MotoGP victory], but it was probably the most special. So, yeah, that one."
