Fourteen of the thirty riders out on track for the Motorpoint British Supersport qualifying session crashed out at some point during the session. Half the field hit the deck either at Graham Hill Bend or Clearways corners.
Profile Triumph's Luke Mossey highsided out of Graham Hill Bend, landing on his shoulder. Consequently, the Cambridgeshire rider has dislocated his shouder and has been ruled out of action for the rest of the weekend. His team-mate, Luke Stapleford, also slipped off during the session.
Only Luke Jones of the front two rows managed to last the full thirty minutes in the wet conditions. Pole setter Glenn Irwin crashed out along with his Gearlink team-mate Luke Hedger, Smiths Triumph's Billy McConnell crashed on two occasions along with his team-mate Graeme Gowland. Allendale rider, Gowland, has also injured his shoulder but is hoping to make the grid.
With the first Supersport race of the year due to start at 17:00, many of the top teams have a lot of work on their hands if the full grid is to get out.
