Tsingtao Kawasaki's Danny Buchan marched to Pirelli National Superstock 1000 victory with ease this afternoon at a sun soaked Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
The Essex lad got the holeshot and began to pull away before the red flag was brought out due to an incident between Ashley Beech and Nikki Coates at Paddock Hill Bend.
Buchan took the holeshot at the restart, however, and quickly opened out a three second gap over Jason O'Halloran in second. The Tsingtao rider kept the gap constant throughout the 20 lap race, taking the chequered flag and the first victory of the year.
Honda Racing's Jason O'Halloran came under pressure from Homer Racing's Josh Elliot but despite the Northern Irishman getting ahead of O'Halloran at mid-race distance, the Aussie fought back to take second place on his return to the class.
Elliot had to fight decreasing levels of grip but was still able to hold on and clinch his first Superstock podium, ahead of Sweden's Filip Backlund on the SMT Racing Kawasaki.
Direct CCTV Kawasaki's Adam Jenkinson came through in fifth place, getting the better of Buildbase BMW's Lee Jackson, who survived the front end tucking on the last lap at Druids. The Lincoln lad managed to pick the bike back up on his knee and elbow to take sixth place.
Manxman Conor Cummins picked up seventh place on his return to the class, as he prepares for the road racing season coming up. American and Daytona 200 winner, Danny Eslick, claimed eighth on his debut ride in Britain, winning a battle against reigning champion Hudson Kennaugh and PR Kawasaki's Danny Johnson.
