Moto-Breakers Kawasaki's James Lodge came through from the third row of the grid to take his first Pirelli National Superstock 600 victory. The Yorkshireman held off considerable pressure from Trik Moto Kawasaki's Mason Law on the last lap to take the win.
FFX Yamaha's Andy Reid took the holeshot from pole position before the red flag was brought out on lap two due to an oil spillage. Nine riders went down in the incident at Druids corner but all escaped injury.
At the restart, Reid took the holeshot once again and the Northern Irishman opened out a second advantage over the chasing pack. Lodge, having just set the fastest lap of the race, began to chase him down. Within three laps Lodge had caught and passed Reid, after the tattoo artist ran wide at Clearways.
Law then passed Reid at the following Paddock Hill Bend corner, with the teenager setting his sights upon Lodge ahead. The pair entered the last lap and despite Law showing his front wheel to Lodge on numerous occasions, the Moto-Breakers rider held on to take the first win of the season by just 0.050 of a second.
Be Wiser Kawasaki's Joe Collier pipped Reid on the line, clinching the final podium spot. Pacedays Yamaha's Kyle Reid took fifth place on his debut ride in the championship, the youngest ever British champion beating Tom Oliver and Ben Godfrey to the line. Rounding out the top ten was Dutchman Kevin Van Leuven, Australian Levi Day and Andrew Irwin on his MWR Kawasaki.
