RS Racing’s Georgina Polden is targeting a top 15 finish this weekend in the Motul Motostar championship at Snetterton. The 17-year-old from Oxford is combining BSB with the Superteen series, and hopes to be able to compete in both this season.
Polden has only been to the 300 circuit twice before – but is already feeling confident for the race on Sunday. She will try to juggle as many BSB rounds as possible, as long as they don’t clash with the Superteen races, where she currently resides third overall. But even though she maybe one of a hand full of girls in the BSB paddock, she doesn’t want to be treated any differently.
“I have thought about coming to BSB but didn’t think I would be here so soon - next year was my aim. Then I did Brands on the Moto3 bike and ended up finishing 14th,” said Polden, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the 300 circuit.
“I am committed to the Superteens in Thundersport as I am currently third overall in the championship, so im doing all of the Thundersport races and then doing BSB when I can – if they don’t clash.
“I don’t want people treat me any differently – I just want to be seen the same as the boys. I have tested at the 300 circuit twice before, so I kind of know my way around.
“Top 15 and or top 20 is my aim this weekend. I have to train a lot and I am doing an apprenticeship as a graphic designer which keeps me busy. But I love riding the bike and I am trying to get more experience on it this weekend.”
