Tsingtao Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan bagged the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 pole position at Brands Hatch today and managed to eclipse the blistering lap set by rival Jason O’Halloran in the heat yesterday.
O’Halloran managed a 1’28.264 on the Honda Fireblade but in cooler temperatures this lunchtime, Buchan went 0.002s faster than the little Aussie.
The pair only narrowly ahead of the opposition with reigning champion Hudson Kennaugh in third and only 0.021s behind while Lee Jackson, who is doubling up on duties with his BSB stand-in ride, is only 0.001s behind the South African.
SMT Racing’s Filip Backlund is half a second off the pace in fifth with Johnny Blackshaw sixth. Joe Burns, Gavin Hunt, Jess Trayler and Michael Robertson complete the top ten.
