Mar-Train to pull out of British Supersport in 2015

Mar-Train Racing have announced they will pull out of the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship in 2015 after three successful years in the series.

The team, which won the title with Stuart Easton in 2014, will concentrate on other projects next year but say the decision does not reflect on the quality of the championship and they will endeavour to win it again this year with Alastair Seeley.

“The decision in no way reflects on the strength or quality of the aforementioned British series, and Mar-Train Racing will give every effort to try and retain the title with Alastair Seeley in the remaining four races this year,” said a statement.

“This season double British champion Alastair Seeley has done the team proud with six wins from his nine podiums to date, and as previously mentioned, despite a 55-point deficit, retaining the title is still mathematically possible and we will give it our best shot.

“Mar-Train Racing would like to thank everyone for their support, including Yamaha Motor UK, for assisting with a terrific motorcycle in the icon Yamaha R6.

“We will endeavour to bring the majority of our partners with us in 2015. But with the Japanese manufacturer concentrating its efforts, both in terms of budget and development, on its all-new 1000cc machine to be launched early next year – it made our decision that little bit easier to take a break from British championship competition.

“An announcement will be made in due course on our racing schedule for 2015.”
