Newly crowned Pirelli National Superstock 1000 champion Danny Buchan is already thinking of 2015 and has a return to the MCE British Superbike championship as his next target. The tall Essex lad dominated his class this season and bagged a plethora of first place finishes – apart from one DNF and second place finish.
He has enjoyed his time on the Tsingtao bike and feels his good form was down to a strong pre-season of testing. Now he wants to have another crack at the BSB championship. He did start off last year with the Quattro Plant Kawasaki garage alongside Chris Walker, but finished the season without a ride. Buchan wants to be with a competitive team and already has an aim to be in the top ten in 2015.
“I am really happy with the weekend, and I managed to take the championship and race win too, so all the early nights and hard work has paid off. Me and my team did a lot of testing in the off season that really helped and the bike was great as well,” said Buchan, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“I had one DNF and a second place finish and the rest were all first places so I couldn’t have wished for a better year. Now I want to be in British Superbikes next year – and in a competitive team who are aiming for the top ten. I want to be with the best team possible and I need to talk to my management to see which team’s will be the most competitive.
“But I want to go out with a high and with a win at Brands Hatch. The hard work won’t stop and I am now preparing for the final round at Brands Hatch.”
