Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki man Shane Byrne has made a successful switch from Showa to K-Tech suspension at Cartagena, lapping consistently close to Tommy Hill's record, according to team boss Paul Bird.
The reigning MCE British Superbike Champion, with team-mate Keith Farmer in tow, circumvented the foreign test ban by leaving their Motec spec-ECU in England and are using Kawasaki kit ECU and ignition parts.
"The boys have had three good days so far. They ran the Showa suspension on day one and then switched to K-tech on both bikes front and rear. Shane and Keith are both very happy and say there is a definite improvement," said Bird, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"Keith is adapting to the Superbike very well and all the work we have done over the winter is a step in the right direction for both riders."
