Quattro Plant Kawasaki FS-3 rider Billy McConnell has some consistency for the new MCE British Superbike season, as he has remained with same team, but will ride the new 2017 ZX-10R.
The Australian had a strong pre-season testing campaign and found that the bike has more power than last year. He has a new engine and ride-by-wire, but the team are running the same front end, swing arm and fuel tank.
What is different are the fairings of the Kawasaki and McConnell is keen to get on the track to see if the testing regime has paid off. Consistency is key for the Quattro Plant racer and will keep 'chipping away' with his team to improve on last year's results.
"We are feeling really good for 2017 and it is the second year with FS-3 and we have got Quattro Plant to come on as title sponsor," said McConnell, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.
"We have got the current 2017 bike, and we were on the two year old bike the year before and I think we struggled a bit with technology with the horse power and the fly-by-wire not having it, so it is feeling good and testing went OK and got three days in Cartagena. Fingers crossed we can have a good season and a consistent year and the bike has more power which feel good.
"Hopefully we can work a bit closer with K-Tech and hopefully get a bit more suspension in the front. We have got some good riders stepping up and we can keep chipping away. Staying with the same team and we have a new engine and fly-by-wire and motor as such for me and we are running the same front end, same swing arm and same fuel tank and different fairing so fingers crossed."
