Scott Redding reflected on his return to the British Superbike Championship at the iconic Knockhill circuit in adverse conditions.
On his return to the British Superbike Championship, Scott Redding was unable to return to the podium but had a productive weekend.
The 2019 British Superbike Champion was announced as an unexpected replacement rider for the recovering Glenn Irwin in the Hager PBM Ducati squad for the fourth round of the 2025 season.
Redding qualified on the second row of the grid, and in the dry conditions he finished in fourth place in the opening race of the weekend.
However, in the wet conditions on Sunday, Redding dropped back to 19th in Race Two, before managing to find some speed in Race Three and claiming a ninth-place finish.
"It was quite chaotic with all the red flags," Redding told TNT Sports.
"Understanding the bike in wet conditions is not easy. There’s also the traction control, I was working on it. In the last race, I managed to find some speed.
"The team were very accommodating with me, understanding that I can’t just jump on and fly straight away.
"We’ve had inconsistent track time this weekend. It’s been as hard as it could have got. I was in the races, I got stuck in, I did the best that I could.
"Bearing in mind that I need to race Superbikes next weekend, 10% in my head I thought ‘don’t do anything silly’.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to be back in BSB at Knockhill."
The 32-year-old will now return to his usual duties in the World Superbike paddock with the MGM Bonovo Ducati squad.
Next weekend, the British rider will appear at Donington Park for the United Kingdom Round of the 2025 World Superbike Championship.
After six rounds in the World Superbike Championship, Redding finds himself in 13th place. He is also now 17th in the British Superbike Championship after three races.
