Josh Brookes says he has ‘refocused’ for this weekend’s latest round of the 2023 British Superbike Championship [BSB] at Snetterton after seeing his title aspirations take a hit during a lacklustre weekend at Knockhill.
A double race winner this season, his first with the FHO Racing BMW team, Brookes struggled to find his best form last time out at Knockhill as he got stuck back into BSB competition following a successful return to the Isle of Man TT.
Failing to crack the top six in any of the three races, Brookes has slipped to fourth in the standings, 27 points shy of Tommy Bridewell at the head of the standings.

Though still unsure as to why he couldn’t exercise the same kind of form that had him fighting at the sharp in the opening three rounds the Australian is optimistic normal service will be resumed at Snetterton.
“I am most looking forward to Snetterton, particularly off the back of poor results at Knockhill," he told the BSB website.
"I can’t put my finger on exactly why we didn’t get what we needed. I have gone over all the variations from the bike not working to me and my riding style after the roads.
All of the options that I could see to be explored didn’t really show any conclusive evidence of why we didn’t get the results, but either way they didn’t come, so I need to get cracking again.
“I have refocused on Snetterton and we will see if we can maximise the speed of the bike and get the results happening again that we started the season with. That is what I am hoping for and trying to do.”
