'We've extracted all we can from the package' - Tommy Bridewell discusses the 'difficult position' Honda find themselves in

Tommy Bridewell has revealed that Honda Racing UK find themselves in a 'difficult position' heading to the final round of the season.

Although Tommy Bridewell did not feature inside the top five at Oulton Park, the Honda Racing UK rider had a positive weekend and moved up in the Championship.

The 2023 British Superbike Champion finished sixth in the mixed conditions in Race One and backed it up with another sixth place in the Sprint Race, before an underwhelming ninth place in Race Three.

However, Bridewell managed to make progress in the Championship as he moved up from sixth place to fourth at the penultimate round of the season.

Despite his progress in the British Superbike Championship standings, Bridewell believes Honda is in 'a difficult position' as they are not able to fight for victories on a regular basis.

The 37-year-old has taken a race win and four further podiums in the 2025 season, but has not featured on a podium in the last ten races at Donington Park, Assen, or Oulton Park.

"The third race was a slow race, in fact a really slow race, which was certainly a massive benefit for me, because that enabled me to stay within sight of the leading pack," Bridewell said about his weekend at Oulton Park.

"It’s a difficult position we’re in at the moment, because I feel like I’m just riding around and not able to really fight for victories, which is really difficult. And yet we are making progress, and I’m really happy with the team’s effort.

"All of the guys in the crew are doing a great job, but at the minute we’ve just extracted all that we can from the package. That’s just basically where it’s at for us right now."
