ZANOTTI'S BACK FOR MORE

Red Viper Racing Aaron Zanotti returned to British Superbike at the 2009 opening round at Brands Hatch after suffering severe injuries which ended his 2008 season prematurely.
Zanotti crashed at Croft, the tenth round of last seasons challenge in which he suffered broken ribs and vertebrae as well as muscular bruising.  That wasn’t enough to put him off so he returns to the grid supported again by the team Red Viper Racing.

Talking about his return Zanotti said: “Its been a rush but I am back to being fully fit, I’ve had a back brace on and even as late as January this year I wasn’t allowed to work out.  In February I really pushed myself to get as fit as I could before the testing in March.  Being back on the bike wasn’t too bad, but I did ache a little at first, which is understable.”
The team, run by Eddy Butterworth are not only running a two rider team with Zanotti and Alastair Fagan they have new Honda Fireblades, on which Zanotti was running in the 47.7s around the approximately 1.2m Indy circuit.
Zanotti said: “The first time on the bike and straight away there was a difference in chassis, power and overall speed. We are trying new parts, we are using some new Maxon forks, a brand new shock absorber, and it is all about fine tuning and finding a setting.”
“Also with having a new partner that will give us more opportunity to try stuff, rather than one person we can split and if it works on one bike we can try it on the other, it speeds up the process.”
The Loughborough based rider and his team will next venture out onto track in the first weekend of May at the Cheshire circuit of Oulton Park for the second round of the championship.
