Sean Neary finally took the top step of the Ducati Tri-Options Cup podium, having come so close seven times earlier in the campaign, to make a late title outsider claim.
This maiden race victory leaves him third in the ranking but only 23 points down on the series leading Rob Guiver as they head into the double race finale at Brands Hatch in a couple of weeks time.
Neary, beaten by a split second in Saturday’s race, came good next time out, heading off Jonathan Railton to take the silverware by 0.306secs with Robbie Brown running third, half a second ahead of Saturday winner and his key title rival, Guiver, whose advantage over him is just a slender eight points.
