Rob Guiver announced his return to action with a dominant lights-to-flag victory in today’s Ducati TriOptions Cup race, taking his first win since July of last year.
The Ducati Romford/Hyside Racing rider returned to Brands this weekend nearly nine months on from a nasty crash which took him out of action for the remainder of the 2017 season.
But the long-time support series front-runner suffered a less-than-perfect start from pole position, allowing Josh Wainwright to take the lead ahead of Sean Neary as Guiver slotted into third.
Zoek Racing Team’s Neary slipped underneath Wainwright at Paddock Hill bend on lap three, but by lap five Guiver was back at the front after a move on Neary at Druids.
And the former British Supersport Cup champion continued his charge to extend a 3.366s gap as he crossed the line to take victory, with Neary and Wainwright bagging second and third.
