Brands BSB: Seeley hails ‘faultless’ Supersport performance

MarTrain Yamaha’s Alastair Seeley is closing the gap on Smiths Triumph’s Billy McConnell at the top of the Motorpoint British Supersport championship table, after doing the double at the Brands Hatch GP circuit over the weekend.

Seeley’s success on the Yamaha leaves him just 10 points behind the Aussie having taken 40 points out of the rider on Sunday. The Carrickfergus based racer is now second in the championship and has edged one point ahead of Smiths Triumph’s Graeme Gowland after he out-paced him not once, but twice at the Kent track. The Northern Irishman is now brimming with confidence after his ‘faultless’ performance on his bike

“What can I say, the MarTrain Yamaha was faultless all weekend, so thanks to the team for taking me testing to iron out a few little problems, which has really given me great confidence in the package again," said Seeley.

A double win is always pretty special but to have pulled 40 points back on Billy and moved up to second in the championship means I’m now really looking forward to Thruxton."
