RS Racing’s Taz Taylor grabbed his first HEL Performance British Motostar victory of the year with ease this afternoon at Brands Hatch.
The talented teenager took the holeshot from pole position and wasn’t bettered all race long, eventually coming home over five seconds clear of Dutchman Scott Deroue.
Taylor now leads the championship by sixteen points and will be on pole position for tomorrow’s second race after setting the fastest lap.
Redline KTM’s Deroue also had a lonely race, collecting his second podium of the year after a debut victory at Donington Park.
Reigning Motostar 125 champion Ed Rendell completed the podium, his second of the year after picking one up at the opening race of the year a fortnight ago.
Repli-Cast’s Charlie Nesbitt finished the race in fourth ahead of Christoph Beinlich and Dutchman Jorel Boerboom on his Kalex KTM Moto3 machine.
Swede Alex Persson came through in seventh place after winning a battle with Dani Saez.
RS Racing’s Jake Archer and Joel Marklund rounded out the top ten.
