Buildbase BMW’s Lee Jackson was fortunately unhurt after crash during the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 qualifying session at Cadwell Park yesterday.
The youngster was on course for a fast time but fell whilst trying to overtake a back marker, but he went in too fast and tumbled on to the grassy verge at the Gooseneck.
He came away from the incident with a slightly bruised hand, but is fine to compete in the race this afternoon at the Lincolnshire track, and starts from the front row.
“I was feeling comfortable. Made some changes from the first session and I was very much looking forward to going quicker. I managed to get on the pace early, within a tenth of my fastest lap on old tyres,” said Jackson, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the circuit.
“I was overtaking a back marker and to be honest maybe I went in a bit hot. Tried to get on the gas to get a good drive and it took the weight of the front end, with it just washing away from underneath me.”
“It was a big tumble and I bashed my right hand quite heavily but I’m feeling okay. It’s just a bash, a bit bruised. I’m looking forward to starting from the front row tomorrow. We’ll crack on and focus on that race after checking everything through in warm-up.”
