Cadwell BSB: Reid clinches Superstock 600 victory

FFX Yamaha’s Andy Reid took his fourth Pirelli National Superstock 600 win of the year, after Trik Moto Kawasaki’s Mason Law crashed out of the lead with two laps remaining.

Law, who started from the front row of the grid, was the only rider to select dry tyres and the gamble looked to be paying off. He quickly slipped backwards but as the track dried he posted fastest lap after fastest lap, chasing down the leading group.

He eventually caught and passed Andy Reid for the lead, immediately pulling out two seconds over the Northern Irishman. His first British Championship win looked to be sewn up before hitting a damp patch at the bottom of The Mountain. He was launched over the top of his Kawasaki but luckily walked unhurt.

The lead was handed to Reid and he duly took the victory. Be Wiser Kawasaki boxed off second and third on the podium with Joe Collier closing in on Kyle Ryde at the top of the standings and Nick Anderson coming through for his third podium on the bounce.

Reigning Motostar champion Joe Francis narrowly missed out on a podium, taking the chequered flag in fourth place. Teammate Kyle Ryde came through in fifth, but more importantly held on to the championship lead. He now sits 12 points clear of Reid, with Collier a further 9 points behind him.

Scotsman Matt Paulo ended the race in seventh ahead of Dan Stamper and Ross Twyman. Rounding out the top ten was Niall Campbell.
