Donington BSB: Race one moved to Sunday amid weather worries

BSB chiefs have moved the first Bennetts British Superbike Championship race of the year to tomorrow afternoon amid threats of bad weather on Easter Monday.

With the forecast continuing to predict inclement weather conditions throughout the day, race direction has confirmed it will run the first race on Easter Sunday at 4.30pm.

This will follow a 30-minute qualifying session at 11.20am to decide the grid, and the day will also now include the Pirelli National Superstock 600 race which had also been scheduled for Monday.

The move comes after snow warnings and threats of significant heavy rain, and it is hoped that by switching around some of the races, this will utilise the times when the weather is expected to be at its best.

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for Easter Monday is advised that these will now be valid on Easter Sunday also, and race director Stuart Higgs has confirmed that the rest of Monday’s action will go ahead as planned.
