Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup series leader Joe Collier took the first-race win at Brands Hatch on Saturday to extend his lead in the championship but Rob Guiver was ini the chair on Sunday to pick up his first victory of the 2017 season.

Collier (Boast Plumbing) started from pole as he set out to get his fourth victory on the bounce but after a poor start he soon found himself down in sixth position as Guiver (Ducati Romford/Hyside Racing) got holeshot from the front row to lead from Phil Atkinson (Highsparks Motorsport) and Jonathon Railton (Boast Plumbing).

By lap five Collier was moving back through the pack but disaster struck as his right-hand fairing came loose, resulting in a black flag and an end to his winning streak.

Up at the front, Guiver had posted the fastest lap of the race with a 47.501 and was extending his lead over Atkinson and Railton before backmarkers came into play on the short Indy circuit.

Guiver managed the gap to claim his first victory of the year by a margin of 1.8 seconds while Railton was able to get the better of Atkinson through the traffic at the end of the race to claim second.

After crashing out yesterday, Sean Neary (Zoek Racing Team) crossed the line in fourthth getting his first championship points of the year.

Dave Mackay (True Heroes Racing #22) was the top 899 finisher, crossing the line in 124th just 0.3 seconds in front of Carl Stevens (Freeman Harris Solicitors / 777 Demolition).

“Awesome, really really made up. We’re struggling a lot with the new bike to try and get it set up and made a bit of a radical change. Big thanks to K-Tech, they really helped me out. To be honest the race for me was won or lost with the traffic. I knew it’d always come down to that. So I just tried to get a good start, got my head down and pulled a tiny bit of a gap,” said Guiver.

“But with the traffic, I caught everyone in all the wrong spots and just thought the others would all be on top of me. But I could see by my pit board that they were all getting caught up as well so I could maintain the gap. I saw a black flag for Joe so obviously that made things a bit easier as well! Massive thanks to the team. Everybody’s working well and we’re getting there with the new bike. Struggling a bit but hopefully at Oulton we’ll make another step forward.”
