Knockhill BSB: A weekend of ‘contrasts’ for Supersport winner Mossey

Teccare Profile’s Luke Mossey was the first Motorpoint British Supersport rider to cross the finishing line in the final race at Knockhill, to bag his second career victory in that class.

The rider showed he had the pace to battle for the win as he successfully fought off charges from his own team-mate and fellow name-sake Luke Stapleford and championship leader Billy McConnell.

But the first sprint race didn’t go to plan and Mossey ended up finishing the opening encounter in seventh – but soon made up for it on Sunday. But with the disappointment of the first race the rider felt the weekend was full of ‘contrasts’, especially as the rain on the Saturday disrupted his plans.

"This weekend was such a contrast, I was feeling good all weekend but when the rain came during the first race I just eased off, I didn't want to crash and didn't want to end up hurt so I went for the best points I could get,” said Mossey.

“I was pleased to see it dry on Sunday and was really keen to make amends from Saturday. The first few laps were hectic, well most of the race was, I kept making a few mistakes but once I got to the front I just got my head down and tried to be consistent.

“My laps were really quick in the closing stages and I'm just really thankful to all my team at Teccare Profile Triumph, they worked so hard and I'm just so pleased I could repay them for a win, the drive home won't seem so long now. I can't wait for Brands now."
