Mar-Train launches Kennedy’s British Supersport title defence

Mar-Train Racing unveiled British Supersport Champion Jack Kennedy’s blue and white liveried Yamaha R6 on Wednesday.

With the national series gearing up for this weekend’s opening official BSB test at Snetterton, the highly successful Northern Irish team broke cover on its 2022 machine. Having joined forces with Dubliner Jack Kennedy, Mar-Train Racing aims to spearhead the reigning British Supersport Champion to a record-breaking fourth Supersport title.

Kennedy last rode with the Yamaha-backed team in 2012, with the successful season culminating in a near-miss on the final race as he settled for the runners-up spot. Seven races and 17 podiums saw the 35-year-old become only the second rider to claim three Supersport crowns last season, on Kawasaki machinery, beating his nearest championship rival by 38 points.

“The 2022 Mar-Train Racing Yamaha R6 looks amazing, and I really can’t wait to give its first shakedown at this weekend’s official BSB test at Snetterton,” Kennedy enthused.

“It’s great to be returning to Yamaha machinery in 2022 with such as a successful team. The Yamaha R6 has been the most successful bike in just about every international and national Supersport campaign and I know that Tim and Sonya, along with Andy Jamison and Kev Stephenson will have developed a bike that will allow us to challenge for the championship.”

“Mar-Train Racing’s full-time assault on the 2022 British Supersport Championship starts here as we unveil a vibrant and traditional livery in the Mar-Train colours on our Yamaha backed YZF-R6.” Team owner Tim Martin added.

“We’re excited to see what this season brings. Jack is undoubtedly one of the most talented Supersport riders on the grid and we have been working hard behind the scenes to put together a package that we believe can propel him to a record-breaking championship title.”
