Alastair Seeley took his first win of the season in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship at Brands Hatch on Saturday afternoon.

The Synetiq BMW rider coming home 1.4s clear of Joe Talbot (JR Performance Racing Honda) with Billy McConnell (C&L Fairburn Properties/Jackson Racing Honda) taking third.

There was drama further back though with championship leader Dan Linfoot (Optimum Bikes Honda) crashing out of sixth place at two-thirds race distance and with Richard Kerr (AMD Motorsport Honda) taking fourth, his lead was cut to just three points.

Seeley grabbed the holeshot but fellow front row man Alex Olsen (Cumins by Team IWR Honda) was adjudged to have jumped the start and was subsequently hit with a ride-through penalty, a fate that also befell Ashley Beech (Jones Dorling Racing Honda).

Lap two saw Seeley drop back to fourth after running wide at Graham Hill Bend and that handed the lead to Talbot with McConnell and Lewis Rollo (IN Competition Aprilia) moving into second and third. Kerr and Linfoot were running in fifth and sixth respectively.

Seeley quickly regrouped and by lap seven was back in the lead with him, Talbot and McConnell comfortably clear of Kerr, Rollo and Linfoot. The latter crashed out shortly afterwards at Clearways though recording his first DNF of the year.

Once back in the lead, Seeley edged away and using all his experience was able to control proceedings from the front with Talbot and McConnell comfortable in second and third. Kerr was equally comfortable in fourth, benefitting greatly from Linfoot’s demise, with Rollo and Joe Francis (GR Motorsport Kawasaki) in fifth and sixth.

Ben Luxton, Luke Hedger, James Hillier and Brayden Elliott completed the top ten with Olsen and Beech recovering to take 11th and 13th.
