Oulton BSB: Buchan hasn’t given up on Superbike ambitions

Tsingtao Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan is proving to unbeatable at the moment, after he eased to his second Pirelli National Superstock 1000 win of the year at Oulton Park. He did it in emphatic style and dominated the chasing back by six seconds, but the 21-year-old hasn't given up on his dream to return to the MCE British Superbike championship.

Last year was difficult for the Essex lad as he was initially part of the Quattro Plant Kawasaki crew, but didn’t end up completing the season for them. Now he’s in the Stock 1000’s with the Tsingtao setup and only the title will do for the rider.

The championship campaign is going as planned as he has a perfect 50 points score after two rounds, but BSB is where he would like to be in the future, and hasn’t ruled out World Superbike ambitions either.

“I am really happy competing with the team in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship, but I would like to go back to the British Superbike championship, and have a real crack at it. I had a difficult season last year, but now I am feeling really confident and looking ahead to this year,” said Buchan, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.

“My aim is simple – I want to win the Superstock 1000 title and at the moment things are going well. But I know that I ultimately want to be racing in BSB or even in the World Superbike series one day. But I love the British championship over here, and the fans are just great.”
