Oulton BSB: Jones wins as Stamper is crowned Stock 600 champion

Appleyard Macadam Racing’s Brad Jones clinched his first Pirelli National Superstock 600 win of the year in comfortable fashion as Allied Racing’s Dan Stamper secured the title.

Jones took the holeshot from pole position and immediately opened out over a three second gap at the front and looked to be easing towards the chequered flag before Ryan Vickers started the close in.

Vickers on the 2017 R6 managed to get within a second of Jones but a big moment on the penultimate lap gave Jones enough of an advantage to see the chequered flag and take his first win of the season.

CNC Kawasaki’s Ben Luxton grabbed his debut Superstock 600 podium after fighting off SGR Yamaha’s Tom Oliver.

Mission Racing’s Jordan Gilbert came home in fifth place, ahead of Milo Ward and then Dan Stamper. Allied Racing’s Stamper had a 29 points lead over Gilbert and gave away just two points to his rival to finally wrap up the championship with a round to go.

Kevin Keyes came across the line in eighth before Tom Neave and Dan Drayton rounded out the top ten.
