Oulton BSB: Reid still in shock over debut Stock 600 win

FFX Yamaha’s Andy Reid still can’t quite believe that he won his first Pirelli National Superstock 600 win at Oulton Park yesterday. The Northern Irishman eased to his debut victory for his new team and in the end had a four second advantage over the rest of the pack – and even broke the lap record in the process.

The youngster is in shock by just how well he performed at the circuit and is enjoying life with his new team. The win made up for opening round at Brands Hatch as Reid was suffering from a sickness bug. This weekend he was fully fit and all his hard work and training is starting to pay off.

“It still hasn’t really sunk in – I still can’t believe it that I have won my first race for the FFX Yamaha team. It is really amazing, I’m buzzing,” said Reid, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.

“To break the lap record at Oulton is just great too. I didn’t think I would dominate the race as well as I did, especially starting from the second row of the grid, and to win by over four seconds - it’s great.

“This is my first win in the Superstock 600’s and with the new team too. My crew have been fantastic and we have all been working hard on the bike and it’s paid off. Now I want to keep winning more race’s as I want to be a championship contender.”
