Oulton BSB: Supersport victory as Kennedy extends lead

Jack Kennedy was once again the man to beat in the Dickies British Supserport class as he held off title rival Ben Currie to take his third win of the season today.

The Integro Yamaha man converted his pole position into victory in the 12-lap Sprint race this afternoon, leading every lap over the Australian, who slips five points further away from the top of the standings with a second-place finish.

After a less-than-perfect start from Kennedy, Gearlink Kawasaki’s Currie launched into the lead as the pack hit Old Hall for the first time, but was soon eclipsed as the series leader slipped by within the first few corners.

While Jamie Perrin and James Rispoli diced for the final podium spot, they were never close enough to make a move on the front-men.

With over a second to make up on the final lap, Currie gave in and Kennedy powered to victory by 6.647s as Slidecodor/Go Racing Developments’ Perrin managed to hold off a tenacious Rispoli to take third.
