NMT No Limits Kawasaki’s Mason Law maintained his perfect Pirelli National Superstock 600 record with his third win of the year at Oulton Park this afternoon.
The Essex lad took a lights to flag victory but it was filled with drama behind him, after a gruelling battle for the final podium places took place.
In the opening stages, MWR Kawasaki’s Andrew Irwin attempted to dive under the inside of Tarran Mackenzie at the high speed left hander of Island Bend but the Northern Irishman clipped the rear of the Stauff Academy machine and consequently crashed out in spectacular style.
Fortunately Irwin, the younger brother of Supersport front runner Glenn Irwin, was declared fit trackside later in the race.
Team Traction Control’s Joe Francis battled his way through the field before making a late dive past Mackenzie at Shell Hairpin.
Mackenzie looked to reply immediately on the brakes into Hizzys but the wee Scotsman whilst trying to squeeze Francis to the outside made contact with the former Motostar champion and crashed out as a result.
Francis was forced to run on and lost valuable ground to Law at the front of the race and allowed Moto-Breakers Kawasaki’s Brad Ray to close in.
Ray moved past Francis in the closing stages and began to close in on Law but the laps ran out for Ray and Law was able to clinch his third victory in a row.
Silicone Engineering Racing’s Malachi Mitchell-Thomas pressured Francis on the last lap but couldn’t find a way through, meaning Francis held on for his second podium of the year.
Brad Jones took fifth place ahead of Mancunian Tom Carne and Geordie Chrissy Rouse.
Allied Racing’s Dan Stamper finished in eighth ahead of Ross Twyman and Tom Oliver
