KTM Jordan Racing’s Jordan Weaving snatched his first Motul British Motostar win of the year and the Moto3 victory at Oulton Park this afternoon.
Initially it was Banks Racing’s Edward Rendell who took the hole-shot, with Weaving close behind followed by Redline KTM’s Joe Irving and Jayson FPW Racing's Uribe. Then on lap five Weaving overtook Rendell to take the lead and that is where he stayed until the chequered flag appeared.
Irving stayed in third and was ready to challenge for second overall, but he crashed on the very last lap at Hizzy’s ending his chance of a podium place, leaving Weaving to take the spoils and he cleverly weaved his way through the back-markers to take his first win of the year.
But Rendell did make it to the top step of the rostrum after finishing first in the 125 class, followed by Luyten Racing’s Taz Taylor and Nykos Racing’s James Flitcroft.
Completing the podium in the Moto3 category was American rider, FPW Racing’s Jayson Uribe and Ducati Coventry’s Chris Taylor, who ended the afternoon ninth overall, with Joma Racing’s Mike Brouwers rounding off the complete top ten.
