Rouse joins GR Motorsport for Superstock 1000 title defence

Schoolteacher Chrissy Rouse will defend his Pirelli National Superstock title under the GR Motorsport banner in 2021 with an eye on the blue riband class the year after.

The Newcastle rider will move from BMW to Kawasaki power and race under the tutelage of Brent Gladwin’s operation, which is also fielding Storm Stacey in BSB.

Rouse sealed this year’s title with two victories and a further five podiums to secure the championship victory at the Brands Hatch season finale, and now he is determined to retain the number one plate.

“I am really pleased to be joining GR Motorsport and also very grateful for the opportunity, I’m really looking forward to getting out on the bike testing in the new year ready for round one at Oulton Park,” said Rouse.

“The Superstock class looks set for probably the most competitive line up to date with most of the front-running lads staying and with the addition of a few others - I’m going to really have to be on my A-game to retain the title.”

Gladwin added: “What a Christmas treat for everyone in signing Chrissy to defend his Superstock 1000 title on the all-new Stauff Fluid Power Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

“Chrissy did a great job in 2020, and we aim to continue that success next year and then have him join Storm on the Superbike in 2022.

“Christmas this year is going to be a strange one and difficult for many of us, so please remember to stay save and where at all safely possible help others.

“We really missed the fans at events this year, so let’s try very hard to get on top of this for the start of the 2021 season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for everyone here at GR Motosport.”
