Silverstone BSB: Hartley to finish the season in Stock 1000 with ILR

Harry Hartley is now back in the MCE British Superbike series, but has taken up a ride in the IRL squad in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 class. The youngster did start off the season in BSB with Halsall Racing and was the youngest points scorer in the championship.

But the teenager parted ways with the Halsall outfit and and had a brief stint in the Tsingtao team, but he was left without a ride until a late deal was made this week with Ian Lougher and his racing team. Now Hartley will finish the season at Brands Hatch under the ILR banner, but will also been joined by James East at the Kent track in a few weeks time.

“It is a bit of a last minute deal with Harry Hartley, but things are going good at the moment. He did a few British Superbike rounds at the start of the season, and it was his first time out on a big bike, and that was a tall order for him,” said ILR team owner, Ian Lougher.

“So he has now joined us for the Superstock 1000’s. We have not had any testing so it is his first time out there, but around here it is such a big lap you can only do about eight or nine.

“He is enjoying it and is smiling and that is a start. At the last round at Brands Hatch we have Harry and also James East competing for us, so Brands will be a bit more of what they know.”
