Snetterton BSB: Supersport win a ‘long time coming’ for Gowland

Smiths Triumph’s Graeme Gowland bagged his first Motorpoint British Supersport win in four years yesterday, at Snetterton, which was the same track where he last won in this class back in 2010.

The Northumbrian clinched the win from his team-mate Billy McConnell and MarTrain’s Alastair Seeley, and the lap records soon tumbled as the trio fought for the illusive victory. But Gowland had the edge, and if he wins today to do the double then it will be a ‘dream come true’ for the Hexham lad.

“The last Supersport win I had was four years ago and it was here, so it’s been a long time coming. I have never ridden this bike here so this weekend we learnt a lot," said Gowland, speaking ti bikesportnews.com at the track.

"We have had a bit of criticism when we beat each other up on the track but if he goes fast then I want to go fast, so we push each other on."

“If a got a double win it would be a dream come true, but im not thinking about that just yet as I just want to some solid points and a good race behind me, but if I did win again, then that would be the icing on the cake.”
