Tyco BMW’s Ian Hutchinson has closed to within a race win of Pirelli National Superstock 1000 leader Taylor Mackenzie and the Bingley man says it is now the youngster’s title to lose.
Hutchinson took victory at Cadwell Park’s BSB round and is now 23 points behind the Buildbase BMW man with 75 left on the table before the season closes at Brands Hatch.
“We found a good comfortable setting early on with the Tyco BMW this weekend and I was feeling confident that we could take the win. We are only 23 points down on Taylor now despite missing the Donington round earlier in the year to concentrate on the TT,” said the TT hero.
“He’s been riding well and it’s his to lose I suppose, but we will keep plugging away and push for wins at the final three rounds and see where that takes us. I’ve had a terrific year with the TAS guys riding the Tyco BMW S1000RR and I’d like a few wins yet before the year is out.”
