Suzuki BSB team announced ex-GP2 rider for 2026 Sportbike season

British Superbike Championship

MPR Suzuki has announced a new rider for the 2026 BSB Sportbike season who has previously competed in the Supersport category.

Lucca Allen will join the team for 2026, which will be his first season in the BSB Sportbike category after riding the GP2 category within the Supersport class in 2025, in which he finished on the class podium.

Allen also has previous experience in the MotoAmerica paddock where he raced the Supersport class last year aboard a Kawasaki ZX-6R, scoring points on two occasions.

“I’m over the moon to be joining MRP Racing in this year's Sportbike class and would like to take this chance to thank them for this opportunity on such a great package,” said Allen on the announcement of his signing with MPR Racing to ride its Suzuki GSX-8R in 2026.

“The team have a lot to offer and high aspirations, as do I, it’ll be nice to be coming home to the British Superbike paddock and hopefully be fighting at the top end.”

Mats Peterssen, MPR Racing team owner, added: “Bringing Lucca [Allen] into MPR Racing is a huge moment for us. He’s fast, he’s hungry, and he has already proven himself on some of the toughest grids in the world.

“The combination of Lucca and the Suzuki GSX-8R gives us everything we need to fight at the front.

“We’re not here just to take part in 2026, we’re here to win races, challenge for the championship, and show exactly what this team can achieve.

“Lucca’s potential is enormous, and we’re proud to support the next stage of his career.”
