Came BPT Yamaha’s James Westmoreland scorched his way to Dickies British Supersport pole position, jumping ahead of his teammate Joe Francis in the closing stages of the session.
With three minutes remaining, and with Francis having just jumped to the top of the timesheets, Westmoreland lapped the Thruxton circuit at 1’16.747, which eventually meant he ended 0.178 of a second clear of Francis.
Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Andy Reid is showing a resurgence of form and will find himself on the outside of the front row for this afternoon’s sprint race.
Another man in fine form is Bradley Ray and the talented teen will sit on the front of the second row of the gird, but will be disappointed to not be on the front row, having missed out by 0.025 of a second.
Gearlink Kawasaki’s Mason Law was fifth quickest, ahead of WD40 Kawasaki’s Tarran Mackenzie. Two wins from the past three see Mackenzie sit second in the title chase but is 0.665 of a second behind the poleman so has work to do if he is to continue his run of results.
Acumen Industrial Services Triumph’s Luke Jones ended seventh fastest, ahead of EHA Racing’s David Allingham and GO Racing Yamaha’s Jamie Perrin.
