Enea Bastianini will not listen to Ducati team orders in his final two weekends with the Italian manufacturer.
With only two rounds left of the MotoGP season, the Championship fight is reaching its tensest moments. Prima Pramac Racing rider, Jorge Martin, and Ducati Lenovo rider, Francesco Bagnaia, are the only two riders who could win the title.
Enea Bastianini, Bagnaia's teammate, is currently third in the MotoGP Championship and could play a role in the title decider. However, the Italian has insisted that he will not help Bagnaia or listen to Ducati's team orders if they give them.
At the end of the 2024 MotoGP season, Bastianini will leave the Ducati family as he heads for KTM. The 26-year-old is riding for himself this weekend and will not help the team that did not want to re-sign him.
When asked if Ducati had issued team orders Bastiainini said. "No, no, they have not said this yet. Because after the last race, I will no longer be with the team and it is not important to do it. All I have to think about is myself."
Bastianini elaborated on his stance of not listening to team orders by explaining how he doesn't believe they are correct. But also because he is fighting for third in the Championship and wants to finish as high as possible in his last season with Ducati.
"No, no. I do not think it is correct," Bastianini stated. "It's not correct to be aggressive with everybody. When a rider is fighting for the title it becomes harder to manage, but it is like this for every other rider. I also have to think about myself and take third place in the Championship."
